20th Century Fox has so far produced two different Futurama animation cels. Animation cels were used in the animation process until the late 20th century when the process became computerised, as such, cels were not used for Futurama episodes or films. Cels are now primarily produced as collectors' items.

Morbo Attacks (unsigned) Morbo Attacks unsigned.jpg 20 August, 2004 This cel depicts Fry, Leela, Bender and the rest of New New York under attack by Morbo and others of his species. Fry, Leela and Bender are hand painted onto celluloid, with the background being a fine-art giclee.

This piece is hand-numbered. Limited edition of 200 pieces. The first 100 are signed by Matt Groening. Measures 15" x 15" (38.1cm x 38.1cm).

Futurama Naked Volleyball Futurama Naked Volleyball.jpg 2007 Inspired by a scene from BBS, this hand-painted limited edition features a scene with the Planet Express staff playing a game of naked volleyball on the Nude Beach Planet. All of the characters are hand painted onto celluloid, with the background being a fine-art giclee.

Hand-numbered 195 piece edition, measures 10.5 inches by 12.5 inches wide (26.7cm x 31.8cm).

Trivia

  • The scene in the "Morbo Attacks" cel is reused on the cover of Futurama Conquers The Universe and was first seen on the March page of the 2002 Calendar. The space suits are reminiscent of those in Mars Attacks!.
