The bean salesman is a man who, in 3013, bought the Planet Express ship from Fry at a spacecraft market, in exchange for two giant beans, which he said were magic. ^[7ACV22] Fry needed money because Leela had to get surgery for her squidification, and the salesman told him that his wife had had the same condition, and that she was cured by the beans.
