Actually, I think the previous spelling was correct. Machina may be the Latin spelling, but da Vinci speaks with an Italian accent, so the name of his invention should be within the Italian language. I also did some research, and, in Italian, machina and macchina have different pronunciations (Google Translate). See for yourself which one is used in the episode, Teyrn. I'll check to see if it is written in the episode. Both captions write it as Latin rather than Italian. Teyrn of Highever 21:48, 7 March 2011 (CET)
The banner advertising it does not give a name. Still checking if the plans have a name written. Teyrn of Highever 21:51, 7 March 2011 (CET)
Plans don't have a name written. And while I'd agree with you because Leonardo speaks with an Italian accent, I'd love some confirmation and the subtitles are the only ones. Checking if Comedy Central has something. Teyrn of Highever 22:01, 7 March 2011 (CET)
Nothing. To be fair, without a source both spellings are conjecture. Unless there is some other source of info, it may just be something best left up to the Infinite Wisdom of the administrators. Teyrn of Highever 22:08, 7 March 2011 (CET)
Considering that the DVD subtitles are taken from scripts, it would seem weird for the DVD to have the spelling wrong. Since this invention seems like a one-episode thing, the spelling can't even change like how "Lrrr" used to be "Lure". I'm willing to change it back, I'd just like someone else's input on this. What made you change your mind? Sanfazer 00:33, 9 March 2011 (CET)
I listened to the DVD commentary and it pretty much says that the Italian reference was deliberate. It's an error with the captions, which is not unheard of. I edited the page and the transcript to reflect the intention of the writers. Teyrn of Highever 00:52, 9 March 2011 (CET)
