The United States Army was the branch of the United States military responsible for land-based military operations. On 9 July, 1947, the Army seized both Dr. Zoidberg and the wreckage of Bender's body after the Planet Express ship traveled back in time and crashed near Roswell, New Mexico (3ACV19).
Roswell Army Air Field is the only Army facility seen, and is shown to have barracks, tanks, planes, radar towers and laboratories for analyzing their captured time travelers. Private First Class Enos Fry was stationed at RAAF during this time, but was inadvertently killed when his "grandson" Philip J. Fry got him caught in a nuclear weapons test. Later on, the Planet Express crew directly engaged the Army to rescue Zoidberg and Bender's body, and to retrieve a radar dish to get them back to the 31st century.
It is unknown what happened to the United States Army. By the year 3000, the primary military force of Earth is the DOOP Army, so it is likely that the United States Army was either disbanded or became a constituent part of Earth's defense forces.
