In the 20th and 21st centuries, Adam West was an actor best known for his portrayal of the superhero Batman. By 3013, he had been turned into a head in a jar on the body of a giant bat, and had been trapped in Mom's flying castle, where Mom conducts genetic experiments.

In 3013, Fry and Bender encountered the heads of West and Burt Ward while on their way to rescue Leela from the tower where she was being kept, and Bender told them to go about their business (7ACV22).

Adam West was first seen in a piece of concept art, released by Countdown to Futurama, in May 2013. [1]
