Applied Cryogenics has been a provider of reliable long-term storage of living people for over 1,000 years. A leader in the field, due in part to their miraculous survival of the repeated devastation of Earth by invading aliens, and even the second coming of Jesus.
Applied Cryogenics is the company that froze Fry (three times) as well as his ex-girlfriend Michelle, actor Pauly Shore, comedian Weird Al Yankovic and (probably) That Guy.

- At the time of Fry's freezing, they hadn't had a power failure since 1997. Since Fry survives for a thousand years, it can be assumed that they continued to not have a power failure for a thousand years.
- Applied Cryogenics has had such esteemed patrons as Pauly Shore and "Weird" Al Yankovic.
- The pods may be inspired by Red Dwarf's Stasis pods.
