The handheld laser cannon is a weapon that was first used by Zapp Brannigan in "Kif Gets Knocked Up a Notch" on board the Nimbus to battle holograms which became real. Farnsworth also used one to shoot Adolf Hitler in Universe 2 and Eleanor Roosevelt in Universe 3 during "The Late Philip J. Fry".
