During the weeks 11-13 of 2006, featured articles were presented on a per week basis; this was followed by a brief hiatus of two months, after which it switched to a per month basis, as there weren't enough articles to fit a weekly article.  As the wiki grew in size, the choice was moved to a per fortnight (14 days) basis instead, which would mean twice as many articles per year. Mid-2010 again saw a hiatus in feature articles, with [[The Beast with a Billion Backs|one article]] staying for four fortnights, but now we're yet again up and rolling.

Mid-2010 again saw a hiatus in feature articles, with one article staying for four fortnights, but now we're yet again up and rolling.

Fortnight 1, 2014: Floatwell

Floatwell.png

The Floatwell was a ship that sank in a horrible space storm, in 3013, in the treacherous gases of the Sargaseous Sea. [7ACV21] Several hundred people died. Bender's stolen shiny metal ass was on board, having boarded at South Street Spaceport, and the crew went to the sunken ship to recover it.

While they were there, Bender spun the ship's wheel as if it were a wheel of fortune, breaking the skeleton of the late captain. (more...)

Fortnight 2, 2014: Tex 1138's

Tex 1138's.png

Tex 1138's is a redneck bar in New New York. The bartender is a Neptunian. In 3013, the crew went there after Bender stole a cowboy's hat. [7ACV22]

It has a stage for line dancing, which was used by the whole crew, and has a mechanical buggalo, which was ridden by Bender, Fry, the professor, Hermes, and Leela. Whoever manages to ride the buggalo for the longest gets a free steak dinner. It also has a command centre, located somewhere in Texas. When the crew rode, there was a cowboy's skeleton on the chandelier. During Leela's ride, the buggalo malfunctioned, and she was not able to let go, because, due to her squidification, her hand was stuck to the saddle, so the buggalo had to be shot. She rode for 48.3 seconds, winning the prize. (more...)

Fortnight 3, 2014: Bean salesman

Bean salesman.png

The bean salesman is a man who, in 3013, bought the Planet Express ship from Fry at a spacecraft market, in exchange for two giant beans, which he said were magic. [7ACV22] Fry needed money because Leela had to get surgery for her squidification, and the salesman told him that his wife had had the same condition, and that she was cured by the beans.

Later that day, the beans grew a beanstalk that went up to the clouds. (more...)

Fortnight 4, 2014: Momsanto

Momsanto.png

Momsanto is Mom's floating genetic-engineering facility. It floats because if it were on the surface its experiments would be illegal.

In 3013, Leela climbed a beanstalk in front of Planet Express, which ended up collapsing under its own weight, and she discovered the facility. [7ACV22] Mom's sons captured her, and she was locked in a tower, where she gave a D.N.A. sample. After being rescued by Fry and Bender, she attempted to stop Mom by crashing the facility into New New York, but was not successful. (more...)

Fortnight 5, 2014: Adam West's head

Manbat and Robin.png

In the 20th and 21st centuries, Adam West was an actor best known for his portrayal of the superhero Batman. By 3013, he had been turned into a head in a jar on the body of a giant bat, and had been trapped in Mom's flying castle, where Mom conducts genetic experiments.

In 3013, Fry and Bender encountered the heads of West and Burt Ward while on their way to rescue Leela from the tower where she was being kept, and Bender told them to go about their business. [7ACV22] (more...)

Fortnight 6, 2014: Digby

Digby.png

Digby is Nibbler's personal chauffeur. On the night of 31 December 1999, he landed Nibbler on the rooftop of Applied Cryogenics, in order for Nibbler to knock Fry into the freezer tube. [7ACV23] They then went drinking at O'Grady's Pub, but Digby accidentally dropped the ship's keys in a gutter, so they had to take a cab back to their base on Vergon 6, where Digby's boss gave him a new ship. Digby then began going planet to planet looking for the old one.

In 3013, he was still looking. By using the old ship's key fob, he had constantly been emitting a deafening melody, which had destroyed a planet and was causing seisms on Earth. A musical response to the melody prompted him to land on Mount Shushmore, where he found Nibbler and the rest of the crew, as well as Nixon and Agnew. Fry helped him retrieve the old ship, and he then flew away in it. (more...)

Fortnight 7, 2014: Shazam

Shazam.png

Shazam is a mobile app that helps identify melodies. In 3013, Hermes sang it a melody that Nibbler's personal chauffeur had been constantly emitting, but, because Shazam could no longer stand Hermes' singing, it did not identify the melody and flew away in his cell phone. [7ACV23] (more...)

Fortnight 8, 2014: Radio-cranial dream injector

Radio-cranial dream injector.png

The radio-cranial dream injector is a machine that, in 3013, was used to induce a dream state in Fry so that he could re-enact the day of 31 December 1999 and locate the source of a melody that he had heard. [7ACV23] Amy prepared the injector for Fry's first dream at the professor's request, although she seemed not to know what the injector was. She later prepared it again for Fry's second dream. (more...)

Fortnight 9, 2014: Long-range scanner

Long-range scanner.png

The long-range scanner is a scanner on which, in 3013, the professor picked up the ship of Nibbler's personal chauffeur. [7ACV23] He was able to deduce that the ship was emitting musical tones in an effort to communicate, and that it would reach Earth in two weeks. (more...)

Fortnight 10, 2014: Jedi

Jedi.png

The Jedi are a monastic organisation in the Star Wars universe. They use their supernatural abilities to defend peace and justice in the galaxy.

In 3003, when Nixon and Wernstrom were going to extinguish a billion robot lives, the professor said that the Jedi were going to feel it. [4ACV08]

In 3010, when Zoidberg tricked H.G. Blob's son into leaving him and Cubert alone, Cubert told him that he was some kind of dumpster Jedi. [6ACV09] (more...)

Fortnight 11, 2014: Fry's breakdancing crew

Fry's breakdancing crew.png

Fry's breakdancing crew was a group of people that Fry and his brother breakdanced with in the 20th century, as teenagers. [3ACV04] One of them was named Noticeably F.A.T..

In 3013, Fry underwent a lucid dream so that he could find the source of a melody that he had heard on 31 December 1999, [7ACV23] the day that he was frozen. He met the crew during the dream. (more...)

Fortnight 12, 2014: For Your Eyes Mainly

For Your Eyes Mainly.png

For Your Eyes Mainly is a discount spy store in New New York. Nine works there.

In 3013, Fry went to the store to buy a hidden camera for his bathroom, because he suspected that Bender had been using his toothbrush to polish his shiny metal ass. [7ACV24] Nine sold him a holographic minicam, which films in every direction at once and stores the video on a remote 15-inch floppy disk, and wrapped it up for him in his foil hat. Leela and Hermes also bought hidden cameras, and their floppy disks were the same as Fry's. (more...)

Fortnight 13, 2014: Jackie Jr.

Jackie Jr..png

Jackie Jr. is Scruffy's apprentice. In 3013, he seemingly joined the Planet Express crew. [7ACV24]

In 3013, the crew went on a corporate team-building retreat, which secretly arranged for them to be trapped in the ship with a horrific alien creature, so that they would learn to trust each other. The creature would eat crew member after crew member, but no one would actually die. Jackie Jr. was the first of the crew to be eaten. After being eaten, the others would join him in a pizza party.

Hermes and Zoidberg found a skeleton with Jackie Jr.'s hat on it in the ship's air vents, blocking the life-support fan. (more...)
