During the weeks 11-13 of 2006, featured articles were presented on a per week basis; this was followed by a brief hiatus of two months, after which it switched to a per month basis, as there weren't enough articles to fit a weekly article. As the wiki grew in size, the choice was moved to a per fortnight (14 days) basis instead, which would mean twice as many articles per year. Mid-2010 again saw a hiatus in feature articles, with one article staying for four fortnights, but now we're yet again up and rolling.

Fortnight 1, 2013: Tinny Tim (reprise)

Tinny Tim.jpg

Tinny Tim is an unlucky orphan robot who lives on the streets of New New York. He uses a crutch (which seems to replace his arm) to help himself walk. Despite the hardships he endures, he seems to be accepting of his lot in life. Though generally seen begging, he has also been seen selling newspapers. Tinny Tim is both in name, accent and appearance based on Charles Dickens' Tiny Tim character. (more...)

Fortnight 2, 2013: The Late Philip J. Fry (reprise)

6ACV07 Time Travel.jpg

"The Late Philip J. Fry", aired in July 2010, is often considered by both staff and fans to be one of the best episodes, if not the best episode, of both the series and the sixth season. Fry, Professor Farnsworth, and Bender accidentally travel into a dystopic year ten thousand, without the possibility to travel backwards, only forwards in time. Upon realising this, they decide to keep traveling beyond, hoping to reach a time when Humanity has constructed a backwards time machine. (more...)

Fortnight 3, 2013: Dark matter (reprise)

Dark Matter.jpg

Dark matter is a substance that was widely used as starship fuel in the 30th and 31st centuries. A pound of it weighs over ten thousand pounds. Dark matter has existed in the form of a ball of no more than one inch in radius, which is excreted by the Nibblonians (1ACV04), and oil (3ACV02). The only place where dark matter has been known to be mined was the planet Vergon 6, now destroyed. It was completely filled with the heavy substance and imploded due to the lack of support for the surface after it was mined hollow (1ACV04). Dark matter was useless until 2970, when, while smashing some in a particle accelerator, Professor Farnsworth accidentally created a single non-local metaparticle and an anti-backwards crystal. Spacecraft fuelled by dark matter were fairly common until 3008, as proven by the availability of dark-matter fuel at orbital filling stations. In that year, when dark-matter prices started to rise due to a supposed shortage, the professor set out to render dark matter useless again and to ruin Mom's fortune with the anti-backwards crystal, which Mom technically stole from him along with the single non-local metaparticle. The two crystals were destroyed and all dark matter became useless once more (BG).

Fortnight 4, 2013: Bender Lets Loose! (reprise)

Bender Lets Loose!.png

Bender Lets Loose! is a spoken word album released by Bender. Bender advertised it at a Human hunt on Chapek 9, where he said that it cost 18.95 and came with a Bender action figurine, in the year 3000. Bender Lets Loose! later went gold (1ACV05).

Fortnight 5, 2013: Amy's obscene tattoo (reprise)

ObsceneTattoo.png

Amy showed her obscene tattoo to the rest of the Planet Express crew in Historic 20th Century Apartments in 3000 after making a remark about the low-definition TVs of the 20th century (1ACV06). We cannot see it clearly due to our primitive technology, but it appears to consist of two red figures, possibly Decapodians.

Fortnight 6, 2013: Bont the Viscous (reprise)

Bont.jpg

Bont the Viscous is the Emperor of Trisol. He was succeeded by Fry and succeeded Fry as the Emperor in 3000 (1ACV07) and attended the Ultimate Robot Fighting match between the Gender Bender and Destructor in 3001 (2ACV08), the violet dwarf star implosion ceremony in 3009 (ItWGY) and the 100th delivery party in 3010 (6ACV12).

Fortnight 7, 2013: Cinnamon (reprise)

Cinnamon.png

Cinnamon is Wernstrom's pet goldfish. He was used to demonstrate the reverse scuba suit at the Academy of Inventors' annual symposium in 3000 (1ACV08), watched Professor Farnsworth in Fry's body attack Wernstrom in 3003 (US#009) and suffered from common cold in 3004 (US#011).

Fortnight 8, 2013: Fender (reprise)

Fender.png

Fender is a loudspeaker who works with the Beastie Boys. He went to high school with Bender and worked at Jack In The Box before 3000, attended a Beastie Boys concert and a jacking-on party with Bender in 3000 (1ACV09), was outside the Mom's Friendly Robot Company headquarters and participated in the Robot Uprising by shooting lasers on Mother's Day in 3001 (2ACV14), attended the Big Robot Party in 3003 (4ACV08), welcomed Bender to the League of Robots in 3008 (TBwaBB) and attended the 100th delivery party in 3010 (6ACV12).

Fortnight 9, 2013: Titanic (reprise)

A Flight to Remember.jpg

The Titanic was the largest, most luxurious space cruise ship ever built (1ACV10). She resembled the classic steam ship of the same name in design with its four funnels and sharp bow, sported a casino with a bar, a buffet (including bisque, Amy's favorite), an outdoor swimming pool on the deck, a large restaurant and many other amenities and was fueled by many stokers shoveling dark matter into the fires. Propulsion was seemingly provided by one or more dark-matter reactors situated in the bowels of the ship. Unlike her unlucky namesake, the ship sported a great number of escape pods at the stern, sufficient to allow every person on board to escape in an emergency.

Fortnight 10, 2013: Rumbledy-hump (reprise)

Yo Leela Leela 3.png

Rumbledy-hump is a children's television series created by Leela in 3011, inspired by the adventures of the inhabitants of the planet of the same name - the Humplings. It was developed for Abner Doubledeal's Tickelodeon Kids Network, written by Leela, and directed by Doubledeal and Leela, starred members of the Planet Express crew as the Humplings, and won a Slurmie for "Best New Kids' Show". When the planet was discovered, the series was turned into a reality show, starring the real Humplings (6ACV21).

Fortnight 11, 2013: Tijuana (reprise)

Mexico 5.png

Tijuana is a town in Mexico, located just a stone's throw away from the American frontier. There, Bender was built (3ACV06), Hermes lived in a dusty house while working for Mom as Inspector 5 (6ACV06), Fat-bot caught a computer virus during a trip with Bender and the other Fratbots (1ACV11) and Bender and Hermes tried to find Inspector 5 (6ACV06).

Fortnight 12, 2013: Giant ball of garbage (reprise)

A Big Piece of Garbage.jpg

The giant ball of garbage was a ball of garbage created in the 20th century by the people of Old New York (1ACV08). In the year 2000, they put the garbage ball on the world's largest barge. This barge circled the ocean for 50 years, but no country would accept it. Eventually, in the year 2052, Old New York used its mob connections to obtain a rocket and launch the garbage into outer space. At the time, many scientists worried that the ball would return to Earth someday, but their concerns were written off. In the year 3000, the ball did return to Earth, and it was discovered by Fry using Farnsworth's Smell-O-Scope. When it was found, Farnsworth discovered that it would directly hit New New York in less than 72 hours. Fry, Bender, and Leela attempted to destroy the ball of garbage, but failed. Ultimately, the people of New New York made a second ball of garbage of the exact size and density of the original ball. They knocked the second ball into the original, and the original was blasted into the sun.

Fortnight 13, 2013: Planet Express (reprise)

Planet Express Logo.svg

Planet Express, inc. is an intergalactic delivery company owned by Professor Farnsworth to fund his research. Its primary location is located in New New York, and its crew includes many important characters of the series. The company scrapes by, in spite of fierce competition from the leader in package delivery, Mom's Friendly Delivery Company, and they stay in business thanks to their complete disregard for safety and minimum wage laws, as well as the Professor's unscrupulous acceptance of the occasional bribe. (more...)

Fortnight 14, 2013: Old New York (reprise)

Old New York.png

In the Stupid Ages, Old New York was known as simply New York. It was one of the biggest cities in the world and produced more garbage than any other city. In 2000, the city put its garbage on a giant barge, which was launched into space 52 years later. [1ACV08] In the 31st century, Old New York is in ruins, with New New York built atop. (more...)

Fortnight 15, 2013: 1074th Academy Awards

Academy Awards.png

The 1074th Academy Awards were held in Los Angeles in 3002, hosted by Billy Crystal's head, and attended by, among the most notable, Florp, Joan Rivers' head, Jack Nicholson, Harold Zoid, Calculon, and Dr. Zoidberg. [3ACV08] (more...)

Fortnight 16, 2013: Pope

Pope.png

In the 21st century, the Pope was the bishop of Rome, the leader of the Catholic Church, and the head of state of Vatican City. In the 31st, the office appears to have been replaced with that of the Space Pope.

In 3008, Fry was tentacle pope of the world. [TBwaBB] (more...)

Fortnight 17, 2013: Street-racing gang

Street-racing gang.png

The street-racing gang consists of four members — a man with a tattoo, a man with glasses, a girl, who is named Minx, and a man with dreadlocks, who is presumably Minx's boyfriend (which would suggest that his name is Benny). [7ACV15] According to the man with the tattoo, they usually rap about their problems. Smitty and URL have been trying to bust them for years.

Professor Farnsworth joined the gang in 3013, and the gang briefly replaced Fry, Leela, Bender, and him in the Planet Express crew while they were in the second dimension. (more...)

Fortnight 18, 2013: Simian 7

Simian 7.png

Simian 7 is the planet of the primates. According to Guenter, it was colonised by a band of genetically engineered primates from Earth, led by the brave monkey Christopher Colobus. [7ACV17] The primates harbor resentment towards humans, because humans experimented on them and caged them in zoos for centuries, and so humans are forbidden on the planet. Simian 7 has its own literature, music, and art, and also a great maritime museum.

In 3013, Planet Express made a delivery to a financial-services corporation there, and Fry and Leela, as well as Leela's old boyfriend Sean and his wife — Darlene —, were the subject of a behavioural experiment in one of the planet's zoos, which tricked them into thinking that they were on a romantic holiday. (more...)

Fortnight 19, 2013: The Ballad of Me, Ramblin' Rodriguez

The Ballad of Me, Ramblin' Rodriguez.png

"The Ballad of Me, Ramblin' Rodriguez" is a folk song that Bender wrote in 3013. [7ACV14] It's about a railroad man — Big Caboose — who decides to take revenge on a smooth-talking rambler — Bender himself — that slept with his lover — Jezebel. The rambler asks his best friend — Fry — for help, but his best friend, too, decides to take revenge on him, for having once abandoned him, and refuses to help.

The song follows the few basic patterns that Bender found after he downloaded every folk song in the universe and analysed them. Before devising it, Bender had Dr Beeler use his 3-D printer to duplicate the guitar of the greatest folk singer of all timeSilicon Red. The printer began duplicating more, and the song started to turn into reality. (more...)

Fortnight 20, 2013: King of Flatbush

King of Flatbush.png

The king of Flatbush is an inhabitant of the second dimension. When Fry, Leela, Bender, and Professor Farnsworth arrived in this dimension, in 3013, [7ACV15] they encountered two of the lords of Flatbush, one of whom was the king himself, and he declared a feast in their honour.

They were taken to a castle, where they were presented with crêpes, flatbread, McDonald's hamburgers, and apples. However, their two-ended digestive systems could not exist in the second dimension, so the professor told the king that they should get back to the third dimension.

Because the king could not conceive of a third dimension, he ordered the professor's death. The crew then made their way to the ship, which a group of lords chasing them hit with spears and even launched a missile at. They managed to fly away. (more...)

Fortnight 21, 2013: Flamo

Flamo.png

Flamo is the name that Bender gave to a being of pure solar energy whose race inhabits the nuclear inferno of the sun's photosphere. [7ACV18] Flamo told Bender that, a billion years prior, he attempted to overthrow the democratically elected aldermen from his district, but was captured and imprisoned. He claims that no power on Earth can extinguish him.

In 3013, after a mission to the solar helium mine, Bender unknowingly transported Flamo to New New York, where Flamo then set many fires, framing Bender. Flamo was planning to make his way to Earth's core, to turn the planet into a miniature sun that he could rule, so Bender took him to the Arctic, where Flamo could not do any more harm. However, after Fry arrived in the Planet Express ship, Flamo managed to escape to the Planet Express headquarters, where he then started a fire. He evaded the rest of the crew, who were putting out the fire, and went into the lava pit beneath the building, but Bender caught him, and the mystic aldermen of the sun came to take him back. (more...)

Fortnight 22, 2013: Meatery

ALS-07-18-02.png

The meatery is a meat market where there was a fire in 3013, which was likely started by the fire monster Flamo. [7ACV18] Above the door, there is a sign that reads "K", in Alienese.

Bender put out the fire, after stopping by the market to buy ingredients for a chili, and rescued Hattie, who was shoplifting a lamb chop. The crew was going to help put out the fire, but he told them not to. (more...)

Fortnight 23, 2013: Recruitment officer

Recruitment officer.png

The recruitment officer is an Earth Army officer who, in 3001, recruited Fry and Bender. [2ACV17] In 3009, he attended the ceremony for the implosion of the violet dwarf star. [ItWGY] In 3010, he attended Planet Express's 100th-delivery party. [6ACV12]

In 3013, by when he was a sergeant, the officer was awarded the Purple Heart for finding the remote control of the Oval Office's T.V. for President Nixon. [7ACV19] Because the Purple Heart is awarded to people who have been wounded or killed and the officer had not been wounded, Nixon shot him with a laser gun, seemingly in the heart. (more...)

Fortnight 24, 2013: Shubot Theater

Shubot Theater.png

The Shubot Theater is a theatre where, in 3013, Calculon performed his one-man show, Calculon Is HAL 9000. [7ACV20] Fry, Leela, Bender, Professor Farnsworth, Hermes, Zoidberg, and Amy were there. The show was poorly received, and a newspaper reported plans to demolish the theatre due to it.

After Calculon's second death, Mayor Poopenmeyer dedicated a walk-of-fame star in front of the theatre to him, for his final appearance on All My Circuits. (more...)

Fortnight 25, 2013: Calculon Is HAL 9000

Futurama Calculon 2.0 Calculon Performing His One Robot Show.jpg

Calculon Is HAL 9000 was a one-man show in which Calculon portrayed the Space Odyssey character HAL 9000. [7ACV20] It was performed in 3013, because of Calculon's decision to resurrect his career, at the Shubot Theater, and was seen by Fry, Leela, Bender, Professor Farnsworth, Hermes, Zoidberg, and Amy, among others. HAL tells his life story to his old friend Dave.

After the show, Fry, Leela, Bender, and Calculon went to the restaurant The Tragic Pan, where they read headlines concerning the show's reception. (more...)

Fortnight 26, 2013: Peoples α

Peoples Alpha.png

Peoples α is the planet of gangs, thugs, and hustlers. It is controlled by two rival gangs — the blips and the cruds. A lot of ships get stolen there.

In 3013, the crew went to Peoples α to deliver a crate to the blips. [7ACV21] The crate, which contained guns, was a gift from the cruds, who sent it as a sign of trust, so that, together, the two gangs could rid their streets of the real enemy — giant spiders. However, because Bender had bent the guns, both a group of blips and a group of cruds accidentally shot themselves.

During the delivery, Bender stayed with the ship, to prevent it from being stolen, and all of his body parts except for his eyes and his mouth were stolen. (more...)
