This is very similar to what I had proposed to you guys before, but there is a problem.

  1. We can't redirect a Wikia site to the Infosphere. Wikia will not let us, and the only way to do this would be for you guys to come to us.

Considering that you guys joining us would be free and easier (you wouldn't need to ask for donation), and I have found that Quantcast has statistics showing we gain more readers than you guys do, I highly recommend you re-consider my proposal earlier this year. Thanks. Joeyaa 01:37, 18 June 2009 (UTC)

Doing what is easier is not necessarily what is best in the long run. I have tried to personally contact the top of the Wikia company, and since the Homestar Runner was capable of coming out of the Wikia society and sprung off as its own wiki, I find it hard to believe that this is impossible. All it requires is the support by the Wikia's Futurama wiki's community.
I fail to see your argument with "free" and "don't have to ask for donation". What is wrong with that? People want to donate to us, and that is just another way of expressing their deep support for the project and what we are doing at large. We are not desperate, we are just providing an easy method for our supporters to show us their support. --SvipTalk 01:41, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
On the concept of statistics, your own site claims to have 15000 unique monthly visitors, we have 21000. Quantcast is like Alexa biased to the fact that futurama.wikia.com has wikia.com in it. --SvipTalk 01:44, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
Let's see, stats from a third party, or your own stats, hmm... As you will see from other Wikia sites, we currently have a Wikia spotlight running which advertises our wiki on all other Wikia wikis (there are 20 000 with about a 1.5M users). And as I have said, we cannot redirect to your website as you will find in the response to your email to Wikia, and the only possibility if you want our two sites to merge is to allow us to host the content. (While allowing you guys to keep your rights and stuff) That's the only way. Joeyaa 01:50, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
That seems awfully fascistic for someone claiming to be free. One of the responsibilities of Wikia should be to allow its communities to split off it chooses to. If the Wikia Futurama Wiki would decide on that, I fail to see why Wikia should put down the foot. Wikipedia had the same issues with focused articles, which spawned wikis like this. --SvipTalk 01:57, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
They manage the wiki itself, we are free to leave and take our content, but the wiki will remain open for other future editors. Wikia is a big place, but it is also a fun place. :) Joeyaa 02:02, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
Well, I don't agree. As you said, our wiki gets a better Google rating because of the fact it says Futurama in the name. Sure, I hate the adverts but I have learnt to ignore them now. I wouldn't want to merge this to yours even if we could. Sure, you may have more detailed articles but so what. We are getting much better and updating a lot. We might overtake you some day in terms of information and articles. Solar Dragon 05:04, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
Wow. I amazed by your dickishness. You just want to continue to fight for no other reason than to have someone to beat? I have to say that I am pretty appalled by that sentiment. I sure as hell do not want you as a contributor on our wiki. Not only have you violated our licence, but you have the balls to say that you could get better.
I would go as far as to call you a disgrace. I seriously do not hope that Wikia endorse you. --SvipTalk 13:15, 18 June 2009 (UTC)

break

No, I don't want to fight. I meant that I don't want our wiki in yours but you are free to merge with ours. Do you think that we should hold a vote to see what users think? Solar Dragon 15:16, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
And I will try to change pages with your content on to make it ours. I am sorry about the comics. I didn't add those. I just don't want a fight with you. We could be partners and try to become the best Futurama wiki(s) around. I would like a merge. In fact, I have changed my mind. Your design is much better than ours. I would like it if we did merge with yours. I don't like arguments. If we are able to, I would like a merge. It depends on the other two administrators on our wiki and what they think. Solar Dragon 15:22, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
If I ask our users, they are going to tell me they are basically sceptical against your wiki. And all of them would want the merge to be from yours and to ours, not the other way around. And I assume (and I agree with this sentiment) that if such an option is not possible, then there should be no merger at all. --SvipTalk 15:36, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
But surely one, more complete wiki will give users more information than two, incomplete wikis. We have to do this with next year in mind. The new episodes will spark new characters and more and more pages. It will be better to have all of us working on it. I would like a merge of any kind. I will just have to ask Joey and Jordan (The other admins). Oh yeah, that comment about my "dickishness", I will let that slide as I don't want to argue. Solar Dragon 15:44, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
Maybe I was a bit harsh, but I still felt your original argument was a bit strange sentiment. You may not be dickish, but your comment may be. --SvipTalk 15:56, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
Well, I'm sorry it came out wrong. I didn't mean it to sound like that. But, technically, anyone is allowed to take your work. This is at the bottom in the links of your main page. [1]. Solar Dragon 16:13, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
Yes, but our Infosphere:Copyrights page clearly specifies you are required to credit us. Even through an edit summary. --SvipTalk 16:18, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
Oh right. Didn't see that If we do copy your work again, I will credit you guys, if the merge doesn't go through. Solar Dragon 16:33, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
