Ken Keeler is a writer for both the Simpsons and Futurama. He helped create Futurama and for the first three seasons was a co-executive producer and a executive producer for the fourth season. Ken also wrote songs for both shows including the song in the final episode. He happened to win a Writers Guild Award for the episode "Godfellas". Keeler wrote the final episodes of the 4th, 5th and 6th production blocks, each of which were thought at the time to possibly be the last ever.

A character in the series, Ben Beeler, is based on Ken.

Keeler has a Ph D in Applied Mathematics, which has helped him write several of the nerdier jokes on the show (see 1729 for example).
