The nose-pronged device is a device that is wired to two nose prongs. In 3012, Farnsworth used it to detect the pheromones of a giant male butterfly which Fry had been sprayed with (7ACV06).

Production

In June 2012, Countdown to Futurama introduced the nose-pronged device through a design (released on 4 June) [1] and revealed some information about it - such as the fact that Futurama writer Michael Rowe (who wrote "The Butterjunk Effect") "saw [it] as sort of a portable Smell-O-Scope" - through the fifth Futurama podcast (released on 5 June).
