Calvin Cordozar Broadus, Jr., better known as Snoop Dogg, is an American rapper, record producer, actor and entertainer who voiced his own head in a jar in Into the Wild Green Yonder. A multi-award-nominated artist, his music career began in 1992 when he was discovered by Dr. Dre after serving a six month jail sentence for cocaine possession. He collaborated on several tracks on Dre's solo debut The Chronic and on the titular theme song to the film Deep Cover, becoming known as one of Dr. Dre's most notable protégés. As of 2011, Snoop has released eleven solo albums and has appeared on numerous albums and singles alongside other artists. Snoop also has a minor career as an actor, making appearances in the films Training Day, Soul Plane, and others.

According to the commentary for ITWGY, when contacted about having a role in the movie, Snoop Dogg was eager to do it because he and his children were fans of the show.
