delta brainwave?

I notice this a lot on here in general, assumptions that seem based on speculation that fill in facts we don't have. There's word for it. Anyway....

I don't think it has anything to do with the delta brainwave, the reason Fry's brainslug died. Its possible in the future, they might write that in as a feature of the brain slugs. But I'm pretty sure that its merely based on an old joke where you put your hand on someone's head and explain that you are pretending to be a brain sucking monster which is starving. They inferred this in the commentary as well (iirc) and jokes about Fry being stupid are pretty common.

If one is going to start coming up with theories, I could suggest that Fry's 20th century hair reflects light at the 20th century speed instead of the new 30th century speed and the brain slugs couldn't feed through the interference. —JediRogue 18:54, 30 December 2010 (CET)

The problem here is the same as in the Colonel (mutant) article. We Infospherians are very imaginative people! This is obviously a joke about Fry's stupidity. And the Delta Brainwave is from 3ACV07, while the Brain Slugs' latest appearance is 2ACV08. The writers hadn't even thought come up with it yet!
