Shouldn't these catchphrases be in quotations? — Chris of the Futurama 2 [ discuss | contribute ]

Hmm? --SvipTalk 23:06, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
Like, "Hi-yah!" and "I am already in my pajamas" and "Bite my shiny metal ass" (the titles be in quotations).

Seems unnecessary, Wikipedia doesn't: Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn. --SvipTalk 23:42, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

Too much rubbish

I think that there's way too much crap on this list. It should be only the more commonly used ones. Things like Enos Fry's: "Well gadzooks!" are a bit too obscure in my opinion. - UnrealLegend 06:37, 1 September 2011 (CEST)

It's still a catchphrase. Perhaps the article should be broken up into sections instead? --Sviptalk 14:00, 1 September 2011 (CEST)

Shut up, Zoidberg!

I was wondering if "Shut up Zoidberg!" is said enough times by the characters to be considered a catchphrase. I can think of three examples (Bend Her, Bender's Game, and Möbius Dick), and there might be more. What does everyone think? The list already contains some rather obscure ones. - UnrealLegend (talk) 07:10, 27 December 2011 (CET)

What makes a catchphrase a catchphrase?

It appears that damn near everything that a character says more than once is being listed on this page. I think there should be some kind of rule that decides what qualifies as a catchphrase. At least a quarter of these so-called "catchphrases" should be removed in my opinion. UnrealLegend (talk) 06:22, 7 March 2012 (CET)

At least thrice, I say. Over multiple episodes. Exceptions for those the writers intended to use more, such as but I am already in my pyjamas. --Sviptalk 13:11, 7 March 2012 (CET)
Second. Also: This would make "shut up, Zoidberg" a catchie. (That's right.) Article? Sanfazer (talk) 22:27, 7 March 2012 (CET)
I think so. It was said twice in Mobius Dick, once in Bender's game, and once in Bend Her. Also, what of things that are more coincidental than intentionally repeated? Stuff like "Eh-heh-heh-heh-heh-heh-heh-heh-heh!" really doesn't seem like it should be here. And there's a few instances on this page where a character saying someone's name is listed. "Lrrr...", "Leela..." "BRANNIGAN!" etc. I don't think these should be here, because characters using other characters names isn't what I'd call an intentional use of a catchphrase. Only famous one is Farnsworth's 'Wernstrom'. But is that a catchphrase? --Sviptalk 14:02, 8 March 2012 (CET)
I would say it is. Remember, they joke about the way he always says it. Even when he simply says his name he still says it with emphasis on the "Wern". UnrealLegend (talk) 23:33, 8 March 2012 (CET)

By this definition of a catchphrase, I don't think "I'll Take 8" should be a catchphrase for Zoidberg. He only says it twice, and it was in the same episode both times. 66.32.148.87 19:41, 16 July 2012 (CEST)
