This wiki seems unable to send a confirmation email to my email address. I suspect it is because my email address ends in .name, which *is* a valid address. Mattmoss 02:02, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

I do not think that is the issue, after checking how MediaWiki does validation, the only thing it does is to check if there is a @ in it, and then just ships it. If it fails afterwards, then it probably wasn't valid.
I suspect the actual issue is more sinister, but just to make sure, you have checked your junk mail box, right? --SvipTalk 13:07, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Yes, not in junk mail. Best I can tell is that it was never sent... that is what the error message seems to imply. Currently, if I click then "confirm email address" link, I first get a message that a confirmation code has already been sent. If I then click the "Mail a Confirmation Code" button, the error is "The Infosphere, the Futurama Wiki could not send your confirmation mail. Please check your e-mail address for invalid characters. Mailer returned: mailer error". Mattmoss 15:00, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Yes, apparently a library was missing, it is installed now. Should work now. --SvipTalk 17:42, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
After the library install, AND after trying an alternate email address, it works. However, the original email address I used ([email protected]) and would prefer to use continues to not receive confirmation messages. The wiki will indicate that a message has been sent, but none is ever received. Mattmoss 01:13, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

Recently created User_talk:70.238.142.216 was me, for my anonymous change to Bendin'_in_the_wind, regarding Beethoven's Fifth Symphony on the sheet music. Mattmoss 02:02, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
