==Description==
{{W|OMG}}! Why are you still here? Do you want candy? Is that why you're still here? Oh, you wanna talk to me! That's it, isn't it? Well, then, you could've given me a call, like I told you. Never mind. Simply click the ''[http://theinfosphere.org/index.php?title=User_talk:Sanfazer&action=edit&section=new Add topic]'' button and say whatever you want to. But be nice. I'll probably click the ''[http://theinfosphere.org/index.php?title=User_talk:Sanfazer&action=edit Edit]'' button a few minutes later and give you a reply. Suggestion: If you have some spare time, try figuring out how similar these ''Description'' sections are. It'll blow your mind. Additionally, in case you wanna view this page's ''[http://theinfosphere.org/index.php?title=User_talk:Sanfazer&action=history History]'' for some reason, click the link I've just provided you with, instead of using the regular, boring way you're accustomed to. == On ''Rules'' ==
Hi there, I saw you commented on [[User_talk:Nrc8127|Nrc8127's talk page]] about him/her breaking [[I:R|the rules]] on changing British to American. Ofcourse you're right and it's awesome that you take responsibility to tell him/her in such a polite manner, but I just wanted to drop by and point out that you could also have reverted the actual change. I did it now, so don't worry, I just wanted to come by and say that. Oh, and ofcourse your change of ''terrible'' to ''horrible'' doesn't count as breaking the rules as it's a direct quote, but I guessed that was sarcasm. :) [[User:Aki|Aki]] 01:37, 5 January 2011 (CET)
:LOL. Actually, it wasn't sarcasm at all. I meant the comma and the quotation marks! The comma was inside the quotation marks in one sentence, and outside in another sentence. All in the same paragraph. I was just trying so standardise it a bit, and so I chose the way I like best. (Should've written an edit summary, I guess.) == Wikisimpsons ==
Hi.  Actually, I was aware that The Infosphere and Wikisimpsons were affiliates (in fact, I have an account with them as well).  I just felt that the Wikipedia article I linked was more informative about the episode in question.  But thank you for the information about affiliate linking to them, since I was in the dark about that. -- [[User:DeepSpaceHomer|DeepSpaceHomer]] 19:27, 20 January 2011 (CET)
:I thought you wouldn't know simply because you registered in December, and the affiliation took place in November. But, of course, that means nothing. Oh, and, don't worry about that ''Simpsons'' article business. I think it pretty much only links to Wikipedia, anyway. Which means you did the right thing. [[User:Sanfazer|Sanfazer]] 23:39, 20 January 2011 (CET)
== Explanation ==
All right, I can explain everything. First of all, I'm American, and so I don't know British grammar. I know what I was raised to know, and that would be American grammar. I had no idea that the grammar fixes I was making were correct. So you can't really blame me for my ignorance. As for deleting your post, it's sort of embarrassing to have something like that in public for everyone to see, and I didn't think it was such a bad thing to do. Anyways, sorry for all that. [[User:Gmlw|Gmlw]] 22:13, 22 January 2011 (CET)
:That's okay. But I don't consider it to be embarassing myself. It's like you said. You can't blame someone for doing something they didn't know was wrong. (I hope you know it's wrong now, though, so I can blame you in the [[31st century|future]].) So the point of posts like [http://www.theinfosphere.org/index.php?title=User_talk:Gmlw&diff=78326&oldid=77385 mine] is not to remark that one's method is flawed, but to improve it. == [http://www.theinfosphere.org/index.php?title=Randy_Munchnik&diff=next&oldid=79602 Your edit] ==
I just saw your  edit and I'm a little confused. I understand what you did but the reason I [http://www.theinfosphere.org/index.php?title=Randy_Munchnik&diff=prev&oldid=79602 changed] the article before wasn't it's appearance. It was because I couldn't find any articles that listed where the quotes came from. I've checked ten other articles and none of them, no matter the size, listed where the quotes came from. Is what you did a personal preference or to bring that article to the Infosphere's standards? [[User:Teyrn of Highever|Teyrn of Highever]] 01:46, 19 February 2011 (CET)
:I haven't seen many ''Quotes'' sections using the ''Et'' template lately, so I don't think that's a standard. But I'm sure three of the episodes this one mentioned are correct: Zoidberg scaring the people in the pool (2ACV05), Yivo addressing everyone in existence in the church (TBWABB), and Randy talking about his poodle as Bender and Amy are trying to legalise robosexual marriage (6ACV04). Also, did you check the transcripts? [[User:Sanfazer|Sanfazer]] 01:58, 19 February 2011 (CET)
::I'm not disputing ''where'' the quotes came from or their correctness. I am asking ''why'' you even listed the episodes they came from. As I said, I can't find an article that lists where each quote is from. No quote section mentions which episode or comic the lines are from. [http://www.theinfosphere.org/Professor_Hubert_J._Farnsworth#Quotes No] [http://www.theinfosphere.org/Philip_J._Fry#Quotes matter] [http://www.theinfosphere.org/Judge_Whitey#Quotes the] [http://www.theinfosphere.org/Fawn#Quotes size], they just give the quote. [[User:Teyrn of Highever|Teyrn of Highever]] 02:04, 19 February 2011 (CET)
:::Oh! Yeah, I just thought it would be more thorough that way. It's a personal preference, like you said, and, in my opinion, not hurtful to the wiki/reader. Articles are only required to be consistent within themselves. [[User:Sanfazer|Sanfazer]] 02:55, 20 February 2011 (CET)
::::No, it's not hurtful at all, just seems weird that Randy's article is the only one I could find that had it. [[User:Teyrn of Highever|Teyrn of Highever]] 02:59, 20 February 2011 (CET)
:::::I know. Hey, if you really want it out, [[User talk:Teyrn of Highever#English|feel free]] to remove it. I'm not a selfish guy. [[User:Sanfazer|Sanfazer]] 03:04, 20 February 2011 (CET)
== [[Channel 4√4]] ==
I saw that you [http://www.theinfosphere.org/index.php?title=Channel_4%E2%88%9A4&curid=13658&diff=79715&oldid=79694 undid my edit]. While I understand why you did it, I think that your math is off. What you suggested in the infobox would be the square root of the fourth root of 4 or the eighth root of 4. This would be about 1.19. According to two different scientific calculators and the physicist who lives next door, my math was correct. The fourth root of 4 and the square root of 2 are equal. [[User:Teyrn of Highever|Teyrn of Highever]] 01:10, 21 February 2011 (CET)
:Also, looking at your edit, you did not remove that 4√4 equals 1.41. This leaves the issue with √2 equaling 1.41. That point can be easily checked on a basic, non-scientific calculator. [[User:Teyrn of Highever|Teyrn of Highever]] 01:32, 21 February 2011 (CET)
::You're right. My math really is off. When I first cleaned up the page days ago, I was interpreting ''4√4'' as the 4th root of 4 (4√4), but today I interpreted it as 4 times the square root of 4 (4*√4). This is a result of me not being used to studying math in the computer, which can let me down at times. Sorry for the trouble, man. (PS: My suggestion was in the ''edit summary'', not the infobox.) [[User:Sanfazer|Sanfazer]] 01:55, 21 February 2011 (CET)
:::We all have off days. Like when I said infobox instead of edit summary. [[User:Teyrn of Highever|Teyrn of Highever]] 02:08, 21 February 2011 (CET)
::::LOL. I suppose so. [[User:Sanfazer|Sanfazer]] 23:04, 21 February 2011 (CET)
== 500 edits ==
Me again. It finally happened. I reached 500 edits. I don't know which is scariest: the fact that I got to 500 edits, the fact that it took me 6 months to do so, or the fact that you've done over 500 ([[Special:Statistics|560]] to be precise) in the last 30 days. Don't you ''ever'' sleep? [[User:Teyrn of Highever|Teyrn of Highever]] 04:29, 21 February 2011 (CET)
:Contrary to what my user page states, I do need to sleep. I just don't realise the importance of having all my neurons working properly, and as a consequence frequently stay up late. Those irregularities are bound to cause weirdness like the above. (It isn't just the lack of computer math study! And I'm not joking, about any of this.) But try not to freak out over the 560 edits. That's mostly due to my habit of keeping an eye on ''everyone''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s edits. Which some might consider a bit arrogant. [[User:Sanfazer|Sanfazer]] 23:04, 21 February 2011 (CET)
== Episode Infobox ==
Was the only reason you undid [http://www.theinfosphere.org/index.php?title=Template%3AEpisode_infobox&action=historysubmit&diff=80528&oldid=80527 this edit] because of the amount of articles that would need to be changed? Is this format more preferable? [[User:Teyrn of Highever|Teyrn of Highever]] 22:41, 7 March 2011 (CET)
:In my opinion, yes, it is. (I don't call the shots around here, so I can't say for sure.) And yes, that was the only reason. I did the edit as a test, inspired by [http://www.theinfosphere.org/index.php?title=The_Silence_of_the_Clamps&diff=80485&oldid=80417 another edit], and wasn't even certain that it would work. Are you asking because you're willing to go over all those episode articles? (Was the ''Produciton'' thing not enough?) [[User:Sanfazer|Sanfazer]] 00:18, 9 March 2011 (CET)
::I am willing but I don't want a repeat of what went wrong. Don't want to go through all that work for nothing. I would prefer to wait for someone important to say yea or nay, first. [[User:Teyrn of Highever|Teyrn of Highever]] 00:54, 9 March 2011 (CET)

::When you start editing, stop at the end of season 3. That would divide it to 54 for you and 60 for me. Pretty even and I did promise to help. It's just that I've had a string of ''questionable'' edits recently and I'd like a model to work off of before I inflict too much damage. [[User:Teyrn of Highever|Teyrn of Highever]] 02:36, 9 March 2011 (CET)
:::Nonsense! (Plus, I don't think there's room for damage in such an easy project.) But deal. I'll do the first three seasons. I was thinking we'd do 57 episodes each, but this way it won't be confusing. [[User:Sanfazer|Sanfazer]] 02:50, 9 March 2011 (CET)

== Protections ==
When I was performing my [http://www.theinfosphere.org/index.php?title=Transcript:Space_Pilot_3000&curid=4437&diff=82520&oldid=40243 recent edits], I noticed that the [[Transcript:Space Pilot 3000|transcript]] for Space Pilot 3000 was protected. Svip protected it claiming that he saw no reason for unregistered users to edit transcripts. However, this is the one of the only transcripts that is protected. It may be the only one, I haven't checked them all. Do you think that this page should be unprotected or that the other transcripts should be protected for the same reason? I was going to post on Svip's page but I know that you are online and it would be better to get multiple admins opinions on this, anyway. [[User:Teyrn of Highever|Teyrn of Highever]] 22:37, 4 April 2011 (CEST)
:I'm undecided. Most of the edits that need to be made to these pages are the creation of links to existing pages and renamings to fit these pages. In my opinion, registered users would be better for this for the simple fact that they spend more time on the site and know more about the pages that already exist. Having said that, if you exclude the two of us and DeepSpaceHomer, many of the changes made are by IPs rather than registered users. Vandalism is usually quickly fixed and you have to take into account the fact that you can't protect every single page. [[User:Teyrn of Highever|Teyrn of Highever]] 22:37, 4 April 2011 (CEST)
::I'm afraid I can't be much help here, Teyrn. If Svip protected the 1ACV01 transcript and didn't do anything about the rest, then his two cents are the ones worth being given. But you're right that it doesn't make sense to protect every single page. [[User:Sanfazer|Sanfazer]] 17:05, 5 April 2011 (CEST)
== Crew professions ==
I noticed [http://theinfosphere.org/index.php?title=Mark_Hamill&curid=4712&diff=83083&oldid=58005 the edit] you made to the [[Mark Hamill]] article, and that made me think of something.  The [[Template:Crew infobox|crew infobox]] says that the listed profession should be what the person in question does on the show.  But when I've created or edited a crew article, I sometimes state all their professions, period.  So should the standard be to list the professions both on and off the show? -- [[User:DeepSpaceHomer|DeepSpaceHomer]] 01:11, 11 April 2011 (CEST)
:Come to think of it, no. This is a ''Futurama'' wiki, so what matters the most is the ''Futurama'' standpoint. The infobox shouldn't be our take on the person's life. That's why they have Wikipedia. However, I see no object for off-show professions to still be referred to in the rest of the article. I've [http://theinfosphere.org/index.php?title=Mark_Hamill&curid=4712&diff=83131&oldid=83083 re-edited] ''Mark Hamill'' and [http://theinfosphere.org/index.php?title=Template:Crew_infobox/doc&curid=6094&diff=83132&oldid=47177 added] a small notification to ''Template:Crew infobox/doc'' accordingly. I saw that you undid my edit. I know that you thought it was preference but, from my standing, it's a grammatical error. I've seen around the site that you are changing some character appearances from (at the 100th Delivery Party) to cameo, with a link to the party. I've started doing that on some [http://www.theinfosphere.org/index.php?title=Mayor_C._Randall_Poopenmeyer&curid=2181&diff=83932&oldid=83016 of] [http://www.theinfosphere.org/index.php?title=Donbot&curid=2494&diff=83933&oldid=71901 the] [http://www.theinfosphere.org/index.php?title=Fanny&curid=8377&diff=83934&oldid=72621 pages], before I go on a editing spree, I have to ask, is this just organization or is there something bigger? Also, can you confirm that the edits I've made so far conform to your plans? I don't want to edit 100+ pages only for you to change your mind. [[User:Teyrn of Highever|Teyrn of Highever]] 23:11, 26 April 2011 (CEST)
:There is something bigger: (Not very big, relax.) I will create a template in the near future in order to make the whole thing look prettier, and, while I don't, I thought I'd have things set up. But it's also "[http://www.theinfosphere.org/index.php?title=Talk:Timeline&curid=8214&diff=83935&oldid=83919 organisation]". (It couldn't not be!) == Disambiguation ==
Is there a standard for when a title may refer to multiple pages? I thought that if there are only two pages with similar names, one page could link to another without having to go through a disambiguation page. [[Mother's Day]] is an example of what I was thinking. But there are some pages like [[Employee lounge]] and [[Reginald Hopelessness]], that just go to the disambiguation page. Is this something that should be fixed or is editor preference? [[User:Teyrn of Highever|Teyrn of Highever]] 21:53, 5 May 2011 (CEST)
:The standard is basically a disambiguation page is used when the subjects follow into the same level of importance.  Take [[Joe]], all its subjects included are equal important if you catch my drift.  However, one person is more likely to be interested in the character of [[Al Gore]] than the [[Al Gore (voice actor)|voice actor/real person]].  Does that mean a character page precedes a voice actor page?  No, because I would say the reverse is true in the case of [[Katey Sagal]].

== [[Unused Title Captions#First Set|Opinion Needed]] ==
Hello and good day, I require your opinion about the page I have linked above. The images of the captions are of a lower quality than the ones I currently have. Mine are in a 16:9 format (800x436), whilst the ones already uploaded are in a 4:3 format (640x480). The 4:3 appear much better as thumbnails and are much more focused on the caption. Mine, on the other hand, are much sharper and and reveal more of the image. (The first image currently uploaded is my own ([[:File:Unused (1).jpg|Lick Screen For "Surprise"]]) and the second is from Buddy13 ([[:File:Unused_(2).jpg‎|A Wholly Owned Subsidiary Of Top Ramen Noodle Corp.]]). If you could respond to me about this issue as quickly as possible, I would be able to either, undo the change already made or update these images. Thanks in advance. - [[User:Barder2000|Barder2000]] 22:00, 5 October 2011 (CEST)
:My opinion does not have as much value as Buddy13's might have, since he is the one who uploaded the images and the founder of the wiki, but here it is nonetheless.
:The image that you uploaded is without a doubt preferable over the one that it replaced, so I see no reason as to why the current pile cannot be updated. However, I would advise you to speak with Buddy first and make sure that there is nothing that we are not taking into account. == Transcript vs. Subtitles? ==
Hi there! I notice you edited my "Tanqueraydar" submission for "Fry Am the Egg Man", with the comment "matched to transcript". I was wondering where the transcript came from, and looked at the "Infosphere: Transcript" page. Is it true the transcripts are submitted by viewers/readers? The edit per transcript changes "Tanqueraydar" to "Tanqueray-dar", but I got the word, sans hypen, from the Netflix stream subtitles. Would that not be a reliable source? I'm not trying to be a polemicist; I'm legitimately curious. I have no idea who creates the subtitles; it might be someone who works for some third-party company, without access to the original script. But then, if the transcripts are just submitted by eager fans, is that a better source? And as a portmanteau, "Tanqueraydar" doesn't really seem to need a hyphen. If you can provide any insight, I'd appreciate it. I enjoy the site, and want to be prepared for this kind of thing in future. Thanks!
:It is usually one of the things we cannot be certain of.  But subtitles are ''not'' reliable.  They are not made by people with access to the scripts.  There are several cases of spelling mistakes or misunderstandings in subtitles, even on the DVDs.
:That being said, you may have a point, but I just wanted to remind you that while subtitles may bring up questions whether a transcript is correct or not, they are not themselves reliable sources. --'''[[User:Svip|Svip]]'''[[User talk:Svip|talk]] 00:06, 4 March 2012 (CET)

== Edits to Enceladus ==
Hey!  I noticed that you removed the detail from the article Enceladus about the moon being known as "Saturn's main dump moon."  On one hand, I think it's a fairly important detail, and that having Farnsworth say it as a quote isn't enough.  On the other hand, I do see your point that just because Farnsworth said it doesn't mean that everyone knows it as that.  So, my compromise is to put "According to Professor Farnsworth, it is known as 'Saturn's main dump moon'."  Will you agree to that? == Links to Wikisimpsons ==
Hi. I'm Loco87, an admin in Wikisimpsons and also a huge Futurama fan. I've noticed that the links to wikisimpsons don't work because they link to "simpsonswiki.net". They should be changed to link to "simpsonswiki.com". The ".net" used to redirect to the ".com" during some time after the move (from net to com), but now it doesn't redirect, so the links should be changed. Thanks! / [[User:Loco87|'''<font color=chocolate><font face="Agency FB"><font size="4">Loco</font></font></font><font color=00C87B><font face="Agency FB"><font size="4">87</font></font></font>''']] ([[User talk:Loco87|<font color=grey><font face="Courier New">'''TALK'''</font></font>]] / [[Special:Contributions/Loco87|<font color=navyblue><font face="Century Gothic">Contribs</font></font>]]) 13:01, 22 July 2015 (CEST)

This user is on wiki vacation.
He/she (we don't know) will be back on indefinite.

Who is that fellow? What is he doing?
Oh, dear! I really oughta do something!
But I am already in my pajamas.

Let's see how crazy I am now, Nixon!
The correct answer is "very".
[Zoidberg sees a link.]

Zoidberg: What's this?

Locations in "Simpsorama"

Because I already know you're gonna ask, we deduced that the location in the "Simpsorama" screenshot released yesterday is set in Professor Frink's lab here (notice the corner at the back is identical to the one in the "Simpsorama" image). DannyJC13 (talk) 22:34, 5 September 2014 (CEST)

Oh. Okay. So I *won't* ask.
Good job. Sanfazer: [talk] 22:44, 5 September 2014 (CEST).
I think it's a given we can add Springfield to that list, then? DannyJC13 (talk) 22:48, 5 September 2014 (CEST)
Is *the lab* in Springfield? If so, yes. If not, I think we shouldn't. Simply because there is no evidence of Springfield being a location in the promos/information released so far. (Although of course Springfield will appear. (I'm betting 10 Futurama euros. Professor Land fun bucks.)) I'm going to remove Springfield from the list; if someone confirms that the lab is located there, it should be put back in. Sanfazer: [talk] 23:52, 5 September 2014 (CEST).

Huh?

How is the change that 67.171.158.66 (me) made wrong? It's more compact. Nalexa (talk) 17:11, 1 October 2014 (CEST)

Yes. It is. But there's no need for it. So it shouldn't have been made. Sanfazer: [talk] 18:54, 1 October 2014 (CEST).
But why use a harder version? 67.171.158.66 01:18, 2 October 2014 (CEST)
Because using an easier version doesn't change anything. Sanfazer: [talk] 12:34, 2 October 2014 (CEST).
If it changes nothing, then why use the harder one? BTW, what is the policy for becoming sysop on this wiki? Is it invitation, do you request it, are there elections. I'd like to become one (I know you can't edit user rights, just wondering) because I may be more active if I can bypass the CAPTCHA. Nalexa (talk) 04:43, 3 October 2014 (CEST)
So people won't make any more changes that change nothing.
You can ask Svip. Sanfazer: [talk] 13:20, 3 October 2014 (CEST).

Wikisimpsons links

Hi, I've noticed links to Wikisimpsons are still showing up as simpsonswiki.net. We moved to simpsonswiki.com a while ago, so I was wondering whether you'd be able to update the link to point there instead. Doesn't make much of a difference since the old .net URL redirects there anyway, but it'd be better to not have the redirection. Thanks, ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 14:09, 12 October 2014 (CEST)

I'm afraid not. Only Svip is. You'll have to ask him again. Sanfazer: [talk] 21:46, 12 October 2014 (CEST).

This is important enough to cut your vacation

Block this spam IP please, tho check out the response I left :P [1] Nalexa (talk) 03:13, 18 April 2015 (CEST)

Thanks. Diarrhea has been a "common occurrence" on this wiki, lately.

I am a sysop on another wiki and will cheerfully pwn a spammer anytime you ask me too :) Nalexa (talk) 03:23, 19 April 2015 (CEST)
Good to know.
I would suggest a page for listing users that should be blocked. (Along with the edit or edits they should be blocked for.) Sanfazer: [talk] 14:14, 19 April 2015 (CEST).

I'm sorry if you didn't understand me

I couldn't move the page, so I copied it. And pages always have the most we know about character's names. such as Bender Bending Rodriguez. So if her name is Carol, that's what we should use. Nalexa (talk) 19:04, 3 May 2015 (CEST)

If you couldn't move it, you should have requested that it be moved.
No. See my explanation. (And this.) Sanfazer: [talk] 20:06, 3 May 2015 (CEST).
Ah, 2007: The Infosphere was still an infant, everyone was excited about the upcoming movies, I lived with my parents, had practically no money and was about to finish uni, we were optimistic about Rudd and I think there was a war on, something to do with... sandwiches? - Quolnok (talk) 17:47, 4 May 2015 (CEST)
For me it was the year that Jennifer Lopez "sang" a song in Spanish for the ceremony of the announcement of the new seven wonders of the known universe in a country that many people still know as the land of Cristiano Ronaldo. Even if he was born on an off-shore island. (That's *my* country, for those that haven't seen my user page. I feel I should mention that, because in my opinion people will be better off knowing. (The country's name is Portugal, in case anyone is still doing m*a*th to figure it out. It's on Wikipedia. (But the "T" ain't pronounced like a "T". Be prepared for that.))) We need to find a way to change my password, NOW!! I accidentally signed on to a computer to say I felt bad about the vandalism while I was gone, but the computer was KEYLOGGED! And my nalexa password is same one as bender! Nalexa (talk) 21:19, 28 June 2015 (CEST)

Blocked Bender.
Tell Svip. (If Svip's not able to change your password, I would recommend creating a new bot.) Sanfazer: [talk] 23:39, 28 June 2015 (CEST).

Please go to MediaWiki:confirmaccount-welc and set the message to the one you use for ips

Links to Wikisimpsons

Thanks! / Loco87 (TALK / Contribs) 13:01, 22 July 2015 (CEST)

I've informed our steward. Thanks for letting me know. Sanfazer: [talk] 21:24, 22 July 2015 (CEST).
