Vladimir was a wealthy robot, built in 2790, who had a fortune of $10,000,000. He lived in the Robo-Hungarian Empire in Thermostadt, a castle right next to a graveyard which was believed to be haunted. He died in 3001 and left his son Tandy his fortune, his butler You There a pittance, and his nephew Bender his castle. Right after he was buried his programming leaked into the castles wiring through an abandoned modem causing him to be projected as a hologram.
