The Sargaseous Sea is a sea in space. Shipwrecks are very common there, because of the dim light given from Sargaseous Lighthouse. The lighthouse is home to Tarquin, who is in charge of it. In 3013, the crew went to the sea to find Bender's shiny metal ass. [7ACV21]

Production
The Sargaseous Sea was first seen in a preview clip for broadcast season 10, in February 2013. [2] It was also featured in a promotional picture released by Countdown to Futurama, in May. [1]

- The name "Sargaseous Sea", which Leela pronounces as "Sargashes Sea", is a pun on the name "Sargasso Sea" and the word "gaseous".
