Before I start
I'm starting the transcript for this episode in the next few days, but before I do, I wanted some input. What is going to be the difficult part about writing the transcript is dealing with the numerous body switches that occur. Right now, the only way I can think to answer this would be to write something like this.
Amy: [in the Professor's body] Oh no! Can we switch back using four or more bodies?
- Professor Farnsworth: [in Bender's body] I'm not sure. I'm afraid we need to use... MATH.
I'm fine with writing it like that but doing so will slow things down and make the transcript much longer. Can anyone think of a better way, cause I can't. Teyrn of Highever 21:39, 13 March 2011 (CET)
- Perhaps a shorthand, something like:
- Amy-PF: Oh no! Can we switch back using four or more bodies?
- ...where the first name is the speaker, and the letter or initials designate the body (in this case, PF=Professor Farnsworth)? Fry = F, Leela = L, Bender = B, Amy = A, Zoidberg = Z, Hermes = H, Nikolai = N, Wash Bucket = WB. There would probably need to be a key somewhere at the top of the transcript. -- DeepSpaceHomer 22:51, 13 March 2011 (CET)
- Maybe. I already use some shorthand when writing these transcripts I just use Word to replace it before putting it on the web. After thinking about it, I will just go ahead and do it the way the quote has it. It's a bit more work but as long as I develop another layer to my shorthand, so it differentiates between the body and the mind of the characters, Word should be able take care of the rest. - Perhaps a shorthand, something like:
- I may be a little late now, but what about colours? (Link found in Template talk:Userbox. All rights reserved.) Fry could be orange; Leela, purple; Bender, grey; the Professor, blue (or a darker shade of white); Hermes, green; Amy, pink; Zoidberg, red; the wash bucket, yellow; Bubblegum, black; and Sweet Clyde, brown (because of their hair, don't misunderstand me). Can't think of an appropriate colour for Nikolai, though. Sanfazer 23:11, 14 March 2011 (CET)
- Interesting, but anything that is just a bunch of different colors can be difficult to read and the whole point of the transcripts is that they are meant to be read. I know if I see something that is just a bunch of different colors, I'll ignore it. And since I am the one writing, ignoring what is being written is a slight problem. - No problem. Just a suggestion. Sanfazer 23:42, 14 March 2011 (CET)
- Like I said, I'm going to go ahead like normal. I made up another layer to my shorthand and that plus Word so take care of everything. Be started Wednesday. Teyrn of Highever 23:47, 14 March 2011 (CET)

- What an idiot I've been! Come to think of it, that link won't help do what I meant at all. Take a look at this one. For fun.
- Great. At this pace, Season 6 will be done in no time. Of course, in the end, you'll have the last word. After all, you're the one in charge of the transcript. Sanfazer 00:08, 15 March 2011 (CET)
