Dr. Daniel Zenus' robot is a character on the T.V. show The Scary Door. Zenus, who built the robot to undertake his tasks, has it do his research and assume his social obligations, but the scientific recognition and the love that he would get later goes to the robot. Zenus then has the robot experience this tragic irony for him.
