Eric Rogers is one of the main authors of the comics, being responsible for the entire first ten, and a writer of the series. He only wrote one episode during the original run, but returned as a full-time writer for the second run. Rogers is also known for working on the comics based on The Simpsons.

On 7 December 2011, he was nominated for a Writers Guild of America award for "The Silence of the Clamps". [1] However, on 19 February 2012, the episode lost to The Simpsons episode "Homer the Father".
