The handheld laser cannon is a weapon who was presumably invented by Professor Farnsworth. It was first used by Zapp Brannigan in "Kif Gets Knocked Up a Notch" on board the Nimbus to battle holograms which became real. Farnsworth also used it to shoot Adolf Hitler in Universe 2 and Eleanor Roosevelt in Universe 3 during "The Late Philip J. Fry".

- The weapon has a range of over 3000 miles as Professor Farnsworth was able to aim and to shoot Adolf Hitler (who was in Germany) from where New New York was going to be.
