Injury and death are recurring themes on Futurama.

By Episode

"Rebirth" (6ACV01)
Episode

  • At the beginning of the episode Fry is covered with horrible burns, and nine of the eleven major characters are dead and hanging gruesomely over Farnsworth's birthing machine. As we learn later, although these crewmembers are "revived" in some sense, this Fry is a robot, and the real Fry is dead. That is, really dead.
  • Bender dies for a moment after emerging from the birthing machine.
  • Leela spends some time in a coma and a euthanasia/memorial service is held for her.
  • Leela's comatose body takes a beating in Farnsworth and Fry's final attempts at reviving her.

"In-A-Gadda-Da-Leela" (6ACV02)
Episode

  • For a while, Leela believes that the earth has been destroyed.

"Attack of the Killer App" (6ACV03)
Episode

  • Antarians partially disassemble Bender.
  • An Antarian bird flies through a cloud of toxic smoke and comes out a skeleton, which continues flying.
  • On the Third World of the Antares system, Fry gets a nosebleed from breathing fumes from a toxic fire.
  • An Antarian dog's tail spontaneously falls off.
  • Antarian children play in a pile of toxic waste. Later, off-screen, they are whipped.
  • On the news, Morbo wraps up a "breaking puff piece" with an overlay depicting a frightened cat on a tree branch and the caption, "Death Plunge".
  • An iPhone advertisement explains that an iPhone owner can check his/her email while being hit by a train.
  • Approaching the iPhone store, and finding himself walking into bright light, Farnsworth believes that he has died.
  • Fry has his iPhone and earpiece installed.
  • Mom and her sons appear in this episode; stooge-style injuries ensue throughout
  • A character on "The Real Housewives of Sim City" repeatedly crashes into a wall.
  • On an episode of "All My Circuits", Calculon's nephew has had one of his dimensions cut off.
  • Leela is thrown through the windshield of the Planet Express ship as it crashes into its hangar. She lands on the company conference table.
  • At MomCorp headquarters, an infosquito sucks something from the brain of a market study participant.
  • Bender shows a video of Fry being incapacitated by a coat-stand in a mock karate match.
  • Farnsworth sets his own head on fire in a Mentos accident.
  • Leela lances Susan in the middle of "Amazing Grace". Later, Leela smashes Susan by sitting down hard on a curb.
  • Hoschel mentions that Jared from Subway was eaten by a giant caterpillar.
  • Fry breaks a diving board, falling two stories onto the Planet Express hot tub deck.

"Proposition Infinity" (6ACV04)
Episode

  • Kif and Amy watch a news report in which a helicopter pilot dies in an explosion.
  • When Bender graffitis URL, URL and Smitty "beat him his rights." This scenario is repeated later in the episode.
  • A brief scuffle involving URL, Smitty, and an arrestee results in a punch in the face for Smitty and a Vulcan neck-pinch for the arrestee.
  • The Forbidden Planet Hollywood restaurant keeps Chewbacca's feet as a display piece.
  • Over drinks, Bender blows cigar smoke in Amy's face.
  • Farnsworth shocks Leela with a cattle prod.
  • Seeing personal items in the captured tornado, the crew believe for a moment that Bender and Amy have been gruesomely killed.
  • Arguing with her parents, Amy is interrupted by Leo to stop her saying the word "robosexual". Leo says, "If you finish that word, you kill your parents!"
  • During a rescue attempt, many of the crew are injured while hiding inside a dummy as Bender "wrestles" with it.
  • To demonstrate the quality of her engagement ring, Amy uses it to score out a section of Zoidberg's thorax.
  • Amy accidentally pops a balloon-alien with a campaign pin.

"The Duh-Vinci Code" (6ACV05)
Episode

"Lethal Inspection" (6ACV06)
Episode

"The Late Philip J. Fry" (6ACV07)
Episode

  • Bender dumps (presumably hot) coffee on Fry's sleeping face.
  • Of course, although everything works out in the end, it is still true that all of the other original characters die when Fry, Farnsworth, and Bender go into the future. And of course, in the final universe, the Fry, Farnsworth, and Bender who were already there are killed by the Fry, Farnsworth, and Bender from the original universe.
  • At Hedonismbot's bachelor party, a nuclear accident kills all the participants except for Hedonismbot himself. The crew spend the rest of their lives believing that Fry, Farnsworth, and Bender were killed in the accident.
  • An animated suit of armor practices "proctology" on Bender with a rusty sword.
  • Fry, Bender, and Farnsworth brawl in Farnsworth's time machine.
  • Leela is knocked to the floor by a record-your-own-message birthday card.
  • Bender crushes to death a creature that Fry describes as "the first fish to crawl up on land."
  • While flying forward through time, the travelers witness a long series of wars between humans. Also, Farnsworth shoots Hitler and later, Eleanor Roosevelt.
  • When the time-travelers finally drop out of time, the time machine kills their "duplicates".
