Pookie was Langdon Cobb's ego, which also acted as his pet mushroom dog. It chased Bender in 3012 as he approached Cobb's mansion (7ACV04). It later caused havoc at the World Acting Championship when it got too big, but eventually got too big and exploded, restoring the life forces of Fry, Hermes, Amy, Farnsworth, Zoidberg and Leela.

Trivia

  • The Countdown to Futurama post which introduced the mushroom dog jokingly mentioned a band which played at H.O.R.D.E. in 1997 - called "Mushroom Dog" - as not being the source for the character's name. It is unknown whether or not the band is real.
