The First Amalgamated Church

Religions

Church of Trek

A religion based on Stark Trek. By the height of this religion's membership, Germany had been renamed to "Nazi Planet Episode Land". Following or during the Star Trek Wars of the 2200s Star Trek was banned due to the amount it threatened world leaders and the church was banned, members were thrown into a volcano. The cast of the original series (excluding Leonard Nimoy's Head) and the remaining videos left the planet.

First Amalgamated Church

Created from the merging of major 20th Century religions - Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism. Led by Father Changstein el Gamahl.

Oprahism

A mainstream religion, probably started by, or for, Oprah Winfrey.

Religion of Mutants

Over Christmas (suggesting they mutated before the second coming of Jesus) and Easter the Sewer Mutants gather in church to worship an unexploded nuclear bomb.

Robotology

Led by Preacherbot, Robotology has many customs. Sinners will be collected by the Robot Devil to spend eternity in Robot Hell, in New Jersey. The religious text of Robotology is The Good Book 3.0

Robot Judaism

Believe that Robot Jesus was a well built robot, but not their Messiah.

Salvation Army

As a part of the armed forces, they collect weapons to give to the defenceless so they can be safe on Xmas Eve.

Space Catholicism

Led by the Space Pope. Nothing else known.

The Monks of Shubah

Believe that God exists somewhere in the depths of space. Built a powerful radio telescope in the Himalayas to try and find him. Fry managed to reach a being similar to this, who then sent Bender back to Earth. The Monks have been searching for 700 years. Strictly non-violent.

Vodou/Voodoo

Vodou has become a mainstream religion by the 31st century. This may have something to do with the increased number of zombies and may have been brought on by the birth of Zombie Jesus.

Galactic Entity

Galactic Entity

Voiced by: Maurice LaMarche
Info: He is user-friendly and thinks in binary. It "seems probable" that the entity is the remains of a computerised space probe that collided with God. It mostly tunes out praying. Is not all knowing, but is quite powerful.
Quote: When you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.
Appeared: 3ACV20

Zombie Jesus

Baby Zombie Jesus?

Info: Zombie Jesus has not been seen, but is often mentioned by The Professor. Jesus' second coming was in 2443. He is featured in The Story of Xmas
Quote - Fry: I feel like I was mauled by Jesus.
Mentioned: 1ACV12; 2ACV12; 2ACV13; 4ACV04; US#006

Regular Jesus

Zoidberg impersonating Jesus

Info: The standard Christian version of Jesus apparently exists alongside (but likely separate from) the zombie version. People in the future know enough about him that they recognize Zoidberg's Jesus costume as such (and don't call him "Zombie Jesus"). It is unclear what role the figure of Regular Jesus plays in modern religion, however.
Quote - Zoidberg (as Jesus): I help those who help themselves! [while running away]
Appeared: 3ACV03

Unexploded Nuclear Bomb

Unexploded Nuclear Bomb

Events

Origin of the Universe

The origin of the universe is a big part of most religions. It seems that Nibblonians had already existed for 17 years before the universe was created. Nibbler explained the creation of the universe to Leela (it was not revealed to viewers) and she responded with "Then the meaning of existence-- [Nibbler acknowledges.] So every religion is wrong!"

Star Wars Trek

A mass migration of Star Wars fans, whether this is actually a religion based event is uncertain, however it bares a very similar name to the Star Trek Wars. The Jedi were also mentioned at one point, which may indicate that if, in fact, a religion was formed, then it probably wasn't disbanded like the Trek counterpart.

Xmas

Xmas has moved away from it origins in religion (The second coming of Jesus in 2443), largely due to Robot Santa's construction in 2801. These days, the people of Earth huddle together in fear and do their best to avoid being attacked. While both Xmas episodes have focused on Santa, the Xmas comic featured a sub-plot with the Planet Express staff performing a play about The Story of Xmas. While the actual content of the story was unclear, it seemed to be a blending of the birth of Jesus from Christianity and A Christmas Carol.
