Production

In 2012, Futurama writer Eric Rogers made two revelations concerning the episode. On 11 April, he revealed that "["7ACV25" and this episode] now [had] stories". [2] On 20 April, he revealed that the episode was being "[pitched] out" and urged fans to buy merchandise in order for the show to "come back". [3]

On 2 September, 2012, it was revealed that the Scooby-Doo-esque segment of the episode will guest star George Takei and Larry Bird. [4]

On 11 December, 2012, with the release of Volume 7 and its commentary for "Naturama", it was revealed that the episode would be directed by Crystal Chesney-Thompson.
