Content may change rapidly as the broadcast date draws near.

"Saturday Morning Fun Pit" is the one hundred and fortieth episode of Futurama and the nineteenth episode of the seventh production season.

The episode will most likely be a segmented episode. It will parody 1980s Saturday morning cartoon shows, including Scooby-Doo, G.I. Joe and Strawberry Shortcake.[1]

Production

On 2 September, 2012, it was revealed that the Scooby-Doo-esque segment of the episode will guest star George Takei and Larry Bird. [2]

On 11 December, 2012, with the release of Volume 7 and its commentary for "Naturama", it was revealed that the episode would be directed by Crystal Chesney-Thompson.

The Countdown to Futurama posts on the 19th and 20th May, 2013, revealed the title of the Strawberry Shortcake-esque segment to be "Purpleberry Pond" and the Scooby-Doo-esque segment to be "Bendy Boo".
