New news. I have removed the old confirm account extension and replaced it with the abuse filter one. This should encourage more new user activity, as we will not be restricting new account creation through a manual process. Edits are still limited to registered users, but creating a user account now takes only as long as the user themselves need to take.
I recently came across this story about moving fan wikis away from Fandom (formerly Wikia). And I kind of felt - perhaps irrationally - that this wiki had kind of stagnated. So I reached out to the author. Initially, I thought to hand over the reins to Weird Gloop, but he instead returned with helpful tips about how to move forward in our current environment. So for the time being, the Infosphere will remain as is.
The first step is what I've already mentioned; allowing more new users in. Responding to that, we may want to reach out into the larger Futurama community, either PEEL or Reddit (or elsewhere), to ask if people are interested in helping. --Sviptalk 10:03, 13 October 2024 (CEST)
