::Great suggestions all! I have [https://twitter.com/#!/theinfosphere/status/142303508677398528 just tweeted] the current featured article. Let me know if this simple format works. I figure we can tweet the featured article every 14 days, and then once a day tweet one of the new articles or something? And I like the idea of putting up a trivia factoid, too. Like "Did you know: <nowiki>[trivia], [link to article]</nowiki>". And I like the idea of having a place here where we can really talk about it (and maybe archive the more important tweets?) And, in addition to listing the suggested "important Futurama-related tweets", what if we also had an easy-to-find list of some of the crew's official twitter accounts (they're harder to find than you'd think, sometimes). --[[User:Buddy13|Buddy]] ([[User talk:Buddy13|talk]]) 19:14, 1 December 2011 (CET)

Time to twit our hourly twupdate

As some of you may have noticed, the Infosphere is now officially on Twitter. There was a name squatter at @theinfosphere, but I convinced Twitter to boot whoever it was and relinquish the account to us. However! What the heck are we gonna use it for? We could tweet news and updates on the site, but which ones? A tweet for every new article? A tweet for the Focus Article? Featured Article? Maybe random quotes? (The other fansites' Twitter accounts do this already, so we may or may not want to join in.) Anyway, I'm just not sure what to tweet about. And related to that, should we give more admins access to the account? Or should we have just a single designated "Official Tweeter"? I just don't know what to do. And BTW, Eric Rogers already follows the account! (and he told me the writers visited the Infosphere today!) --Buddy (talk) 07:29, 1 December 2011 (CET)

I not much for the social networking sites. But this is good news. As for what goes there... uh... We could use it to send out whatever's in the news section and anything in the new article sections. If it has been too long between tweets (however long that is) hit Special:Random and throw some trivia at the feed. - Quolnok (talk) 10:31, 1 December 2011 (CET)
This Twitter account must only be used for the greater good. Or world domination. Either way, I'm for the New and Featured article suggestions, since we'd be derelict not to promote the good stuff that keeps popping up here. -- DeepSpaceHomer (talk) 17:11, 1 December 2011 (CET)
How about a project page for Twitter? No, we don't have an article for it in the main namespace yet. (And we could have what with the 6ACV03 parody and the 6ACV24 mention.) But, with a project page, we'd have an excuse for covering this very subject in depth and, off the top of my head, listing important Futurama-related tweets. What do you guys think? Great suggestions all! I have just tweeted the current featured article. Let me know if this simple format works. I figure we can tweet the featured article every 14 days, and then once a day tweet one of the new articles or something? And I like the idea of putting up a trivia factoid, too. Like "Did you know: [trivia], [link to article]". --Buddy (talk) 19:14, 1 December 2011 (CET)
That's a very good idea. No complaints regarding the simple format either. Sanfazer (talk) 21:09, 2 December 2011 (CET)
