For me a sphere doesn't have a left side and a right side. So, talking about a western hemisphere bothers me a little.Yach 11:59, 12 August 2010 (CEST)

Just to make myself clear. East and west exist on a 'flat' map. But places are western or eastern according to the place or the line used as the center of it. For example, France is eastern if US is the center of the map, but western if Japan is the center of the map.Yach 12:08, 12 August 2010 (CEST)
Well, I understand the argument, but according to wikipedia:

The Western Hemisphere, also Western hemisphere or western hemisphere, is a geographical term for the half of the Earth that lies west of the Prime Meridian (which crosses Greenwich in London, England, United Kingdom), the other half being the eastern hemisphere. 20:02, 12 August 2010 (CEST)
