I notice it's been updated for BBS, but it still says she froze herself for a thousand years... I seem to remember her saying so in the show, actually, but we saw Fry/Lars change the dial, so what was it really originally set for? Perhaps a "Goof" should be added, because if she said a thousand years, it was clearly wrong... Although, this movie really really really screwed up the timeline. Totally confusing. Perhaps we should add some section somewhere about continuity changes due to the movie... or something --Buddy 13:25, 30 December 2007 (PST)

It may also be an issue able to be discussed in canon. Since a question of canon is also what to do with contradictions. So far, we have accepted that "ideas" or "facts" created in later episodes overrule those of earlier ones. Someone one could state that BBS change a lot of the facts we have heard before. And besides, how did Michelle know she was setting it for a thousand years? Fry didn't in the first episode, he just fell in. Alternatively (though unlikely) her timer was changed by someone else. But who knows. --SvipTalk 13:42, 30 December 2007 (PST)
Well, presumably, if the person gets in the tube intentionally, they can choose their time (like in BBS, where Fry sets it for 7.whatever years). It's possible that when Fry fell in, the tube either set itself based on a previous setting (but then where's the prior occupant (maybe that power outage in '97)), or based on a default of 1000 years. The other possibility is that the timer randomly spinned (spun?) when it shut, like the combination lock on some safes, but that would make the exact 1000 year outcome rather coincidental. A fourth possibility is that Nibbler, knowing exactly how long it was to take, set it beforehand (couldn't have done it after, since we see it set when Fry goes in), but now I'm on a tangent! --Buddy 14:12, 30 December 2007 (PST)
