Galaxy Quest Reference?
The Omega Device seems reminiscent of the Omega 13 from Galaxy Quest. The name similarity originally made me draw the connection, but they're similar in other ways. Both are powerful, mysterious devices which little is known about. They both also serve as the deus ex machina at the climax of their respective movies. But I don't know how to confirm whether the reference was intended.
