The Watergate Hotel was the hotel that contained the office complex that held the Democratic National Committee in 1972, and was well known for the break-in and the subsequent cover-up by the Richard Nixon administration.
In 3000, while running for president using the body of Bender, Nixon was staying at the Watergate Hotel for their repeat customer discount. When Nixon refused to give Bender back his body, Bender and his friends broke into his hotel room at the Watergate Hotel to steal it back. They were successful, but Nixon just bought a bigger robot body, and was elected into office on the robot vote.
In 3017, the universe was pulled into hypnowaves after the Hypnotoad summoned the female hypnotoad from a perpendicular universe. While New New York was reconstructed, Nixon and the last clone of Agnew emerged from the hypnowaves in the Watergate Hotel.Disputed canon
