Mad Hatterbot is a robot at the HAL Institute, he is based on the Mad Hatter from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. The Mad Hatterbot's only line is "change places!", which interestingly all the robots at the HAL Institute seem to comply with, including the doctors and nurses.

Trivia
- In Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, the label on the Mad Hatter's hat says 10/6, but Mad Hatterbot's says 5/3, which is clearly just the most efficient (or robotic) expression for the number 10/6. However, the original Hatter's number referred to the price of the hat, 10 shillings and 6 pence, which would be twice as valuable as Hatterbot's.
- Interestingly, the Mad Hatter's obsession in the novel is changing places to perpetually have clean cups.
- Mad Hatterbot is always seen with a tea set like in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.
