Redirects are fine. Lazy editors are not evil. </Jimmy Wales> But a direct link is always better. And even if we choose to link to Bender Bending Rodriguez by hand we may well be kicked right in the face when the comics crew decides that Bender's name is Bender Bending Rodriguez II. Or 7ACV25 does? Or 7ACV26?

Nah. Probably not.

Can I go ahead and create this? Can I?! Can I?! Sanfazer (talk) 02:12, 25 August 2013 (CEST).

Forgive me, but I don't see the point... I mean. What's wrong with a redirect? If I link to Bender, it gets people to where I want them to go. Isn't that the point? It's possible that there's something inherently evil about redirects that I'm unaware of... I just don't see this as addressing an actual problem, but perhaps being more of a solution searching for a problem? I think I'll abstain from voting unless compelling arguments can be made either way. I have no strong feelings, so... whatever.
Sidenote: Jimmy Wales is a douchenozzle.

I just think it looks cleaner. A reader shouldn't have to be told that he's being redirected from some place. Sanfazer (talk) 03:13, 25 August 2013 (CEST).
Redirects are fine, so long as we fix double redirects as they come up (I think the bot does this?). Abstain. Leaning towards no. Also, I thought it was still "Rodríguez". - Quolnok (talk) 12:15, 25 August 2013 (CEST)
That was "Forty Percent Leadbelly". See here.
This would probably be useless on Wikipedia, where they have four million articles, but we have three thousand. What harm can come from suppressing a few (or most) redirects? If anything, it would be as if we were using the actual link. Sanfazer (talk) 19:28, 25 August 2013 (CEST).
It's the same case with {{es}}. Sanfazer (talk) 19:57, 25 August 2013 (CEST).
Something else. Sanfazer (talk) 16:53, 3 September 2013 (CEST).

Now you can afford to be ever lazier. Goodbye, caps! Sanfazer (talk) 22:54, 3 September 2013 (CEST).

Meh. I still don't care. but it looks like you've got three affirmative votes and nobody voting against, so... do your thing. --Buddy (talk) 03:11, 6 September 2013 (CEST)
That's democracy, baby. Folks say great things. There's this other thing called dictate-or-ship, though, which seems to be pretty interesting... Shall we have a vote?
Wait. Why am I already trying to rig this? Sanfazer (talk) 10:16, 6 September 2013 (CEST).
