Adlai Atkins was an orphan who grew up in Cookieville Minimum Security Orphanarium at the same time as Leela (3ACV09).
Biography
He has since become a doctor and was the one who suggested Leela phaser eye surgery, so she could appear normal. After the surgery, he began to date her, much to Fry’s anger. He is obsessed with making things look normal and thinks that everyone who looks odd should have an operation. Leela dumped him because of this, but not before making him reverse the procedure so she could have her single eye again.
Adlai also had a short (and non-speaking) cameo in The Beast with a Billion Backs, inspecting a wart for removal. He was later seen going on a date with Yivo.
Character Description
Adlai was constantly shown as being quite nice and more or less the perfect boyfriend, except his one flaw that he can't stand abnormality, thus semi-forcing Leela to get a second eye and not wanting to adopt a three-eared orphan.
