Wachaun was Laughnaugh's best friend during his youth in Connemara, Western Ireland. He appears at the Gaelic Games holding a bottle of aerosol Guinness. When Master McGrath disappoints him, he grows angry and gives him "the most unpleasant shillelagh experience of his life". Unlike Laughnaugh, he does not have a good understanding of the English language, having been brought up in an entirely Gaelic environment.
