"Futurama Reincarnation", originally "Resurrection",[1] is the one hundredth and fourteenth episode of Futurama, the twenty-sixth and last of the sixth production season and the thirteenth and last of the eighth broadcast season. So far there has been no word about a possible seventh production season, and as such this episode is currently the 'series finale', it all depends on the decisions of Comedy Central, FOX and/or 20th Century Fox Television. And of course the viewership and revenue season 6 gathers.

Production

Much like "The Devil's Hands Are Idle Playthings" and Into the Wild Green Yonder, this episode is written 'as if' it was the last episode ever of Futurama.[2] And once again, they have put Ken Keeler in charge of writing the episode.[2]

There are also plans to create this episode in an Anthology of Interest-style episode, but with three different animation styles.[3] Though, David X. Cohen does mention that this could also be "6ACV25" since as of June 2010, the episodes are still in an early production stage.[3]

We’re getting good at it – we’re doing our third one that we’re actually working on here at the moment – they’ve all been written by Ken Keeler, I should mention, who is writing his third last episode ever."Cohen, David

It’ll be most likely presented as a special that’s kind of outside the timeline of the series, again being an abstract episode like the 'Anthologies of Interest,' where we will see the Futurama characters in three different animation styles. Futurama itself will be reincarnated in three different styles."Cohen, David
