Rome is the capital of Italy, and has also served as the capital city of the Roman Kingdom, the Roman Republic and the Roman Empire. It's also the site of the Vatican City, an independent city-state presided over by the Space Pope.

The first time we saw Rome, a crowd was celebrating New Year's Eve in its streets (1ACV01). In 3010, the Planet Express crew went to Rome to solve the mystery behind Leonardo's Macchina Magnifica and his famous painting, The Last Supper (6ACV05).
