Production
When they were writing "The Sting", writers wanted to ensure that the continuity was kept between the Space Wasps mentioned in the first episode, and the Space Bees mentioned in "The Sting".[1] Unfortunately bees and wasps are not found to co-mingle in any form, and as such would be a break in continuity, that they decided to go through with despite their knowledge. However there could be a possibility (which should not be considered canon or over-thought about) that Space "Wasps" was simply just a written mistake on the folder. Or they were killed by Space Bees and THEN eaten by Space Wasps.[1]
