Episode

Planet Express is an intergalactic delivery company started by Professor Farnsworth to fund his research.

The company scrapes by, in spite of fierce competition from the leader in package delivery, Mom's Friendly Delivery Company. They stay in business thanks to their complete disregard for safety and minimum wage laws.

During its existence, the company have at times changed owner, Cubert and Dwight took over the business when they inherited, during their reign it was named "Awesome Express". Later Steve Castle was elected CEO and ran the business as "PlanEx". Later the Scammer Aliens, lead by Nudar, took over. In all cases, the company had been returned to Professor Farnsworth, either due to death or realisation of being unfit for business.

Floor Plan

The Planet Express Building has an ever-changing floor plan. Rooms such as the Angry Dome can appear only in one episode and never be seen again. A cross section was made available in one of the comics and the building could be explored in the game, but both of these layouts omitted features.

The building is known to have at least five floors, including two basement levels. The location of the Professor and Cubert's bedrooms within the building are unknown.

Places inside the building include the Professor's Lab, Hermes Conrad's office, Dr. Zoidberg's office, the main hangar, an observatory, a lounge, the basement, a dining room and a kitchen. There is also a room called "The Accusing Parlour." It is first used in the Anthology of Interest I when Zoidberg is trying to solve a murder. Although the two Anthology of Interests are not considered canon, the room is used a second time when the Professor accuses Fry of breaking his model ship in The 30% Iron Chef, confirming its existence.

Location

In Bender's Game, we see they zoom in on a map that shows the Planet Express building. In the commentary David X. Cohen says the building is meant to be on West 57th Street, however John DiMaggio believes it looked more like Queens. A comparison between the screencap and the location on Google Maps seems to agree with Cohen, though.
