Whoever put it was probably trying to simplify de Gaulle's claim of having "freed France from the Nazis". If you think that you can improve the article, go ahead. Teyrn of Highever 20:10, 7 June 2011 (CEST)

I excised the section about Charles de Gaulle. While mentioning World War II in the trivia section doesn't seem like a problem, de Gaulle's role really is better suited to his own article. -- DeepSpaceHomer 23:37, 7 June 2011 (CEST)
