---|---|
Owner(s) | Democratic Order of Planets |
Usage | Extracting helium from the sun |
First appearance | "The Inhuman Torch" (7ACV18) |
The solar helium mine is used to extract helium from the sun. It uses a force-field to keep open a mine shaft into the sun, where helium is collected and stored in balloons. Inside the mine is a "doom chamber" where the miners hid in 3013, after Zapp Brannigan accidentally lowered the force-field, until the Planet Express crew rescued them. [7ACV18]
Production
The solar helium mine was first seen in a promotional picture released by Countdown to Futurama, in May 2013. [1]
