Comic-Con Intergalactic is a fan convention which is celebrated every year on Earth. It hosts such panels as "Matt Groening's other panel". The 3010 edition admitted people using Ewok pelt costumes for free. The 3011 edition admission, however, required buying ticket one year prior to the event.
Matt Groening, David X. Cohen and Sergio Aragonés are among the few celebrities known to have been invited to it.
Comic-Con 3010
Fry, Leela, Bender, the Professor, Amy, Zoidberg and Hermes attended the 3010 edition of the intergalactic comic book convention. They saw many products featured in the event. In Ballroom 20, the heads of Matt Groening and David X. Cohen presented their latest TV show, Futurella. Toyminator DOOP action figures such as the Zapp Brannigan doll and XXXL (or bigger) t-shirts were for sale. Movie - The Videogame, Calculon in Delayed and Overbudget 2 and Videogame - The Movie were big attractions, unlike the Spaceship in a Bottle exhibit and the last actual comic book booth with Sergio Aragonés' head, which didn't seem to be that crowded.
The Costume Contest (3010)
In the Costume Contest we can see many people dressed as both popular culture characters and Futurama characters. Randy Munchnik, the host, is Mario. Fry uses Charlie Brown's ghost costume from The Great Pumpkin. Leela is Princess Leia from Star Wars. Dr. Ben Beeler is the Robot Devil. Scruffy is a Na'vi from Avatar. Zoidberg is Davy Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean. Dwight, the Indian Boy and the Chinese Boy are Brain Spawn. Contestant 36 is Spider-Man.
There are also a few unknown individuals dressed as Sailor Moon, Wally, Yivo, Mom and her sons Walt, Larry and Igner. Grrrl has a Decapodian costume, but she can only be seen in audience, so we can assume she didn't participate in the contest. Also, after invading the event, Lrrr was mistaken for Contestant 37 and was thought to be dressed as an Omicronian, despite being an actual member of the species.
Bender, dressed as every nerd's fantasy, won the costume contest and a small, golden trophy.
