"The Sun Also Raises!" is the sixty-fifth comic issue, released 30 January, 2013 in the US.

The Story

The stakes have never been higher when the Planet Express crew needs to deliver a check to an alien race to pay the Earth's solar power bill. But it is going to take a little gamesmanship and even more dumb luck to prevent another planetary Ice Age. Fortunately, Bender and Fry have both -- in spades.

Trivia

The shark at the beginning of the story literally bites Bender's "shiny, metal ass".

Allusions

The issue's title is a reference to the 1926 novel The Sun Also Rises.

Goofs

The crew complain that they need Nibbler to produce Dark Matter to fuel the ship, however, Dark Matter is rendered useless in Bender's Game, and all ships are now fueled by whale oil.
